Shop Rubicon Build Part 2

Our first step was very similar to what we do when we sit down with a client preparing to build what they would want.  We knew we wanted to run 37" Mud Terrain tires and also wanted install a suspension system that was heavy duty enough to take any abuse we could throw at it but provide a plush ride on the highway.  For wheel and tire duty we opted for 17" Method Race Wheels wrapped in 37" rubber.  We chose a 2.5" Rock Krawler Suspension Flex System paired with Fox 2.0 Shocks.  The Jeep handles great and rides silky smooth.  Highway speeds with one finger on the steering wheel are a breeze.

We ditched the factory bumpers and called our friends at JCR Offroad for some awesome Michigan Made bumpers.  We run a Frame Chop on the front and a Crusader mid-width on the back, both provide great protection and pull points for recovery if needed.  We installed LED pods in the rear bumper for our night runs and the bumper protects them great.

To haul around the big 37" spare tire we installed an ACE Engineering Body mount tire carrier.  This carrier allows us to carry 2 Rotopax fuel cans on our spare tire along with a CB antenna mount all retaining one handed opening and closing of the factory tail gate. Another awesome Michigan Made product!

We sell and install all the products we use.  If we wouldn't use it why would we recommend them you to?
